The Ashwood Cricket Club is delighted to announce our second overseas signing, Archie Davies, who will be joining us for the upcoming summer via the CricX Agency program. Archie is an 18-year-old talented bowling all-rounder from Formby Cricket Club.

Archie is currently involved with the Lancashire County Cricket pathways program having made his way through the various academy age groups, and ultimately making his Lancashire Second XI debut the current season. Archie is highly praised for his work on and off the field and is touted for higher honours by many around him.

Standing at 6ft 6in, Archie offers a unique presence as an off-spinner, creating extra difficulty for opposition batters through his height and variation. He is also a reliable contributor with the bat, bringing a great sense of balance and depth to the side. Whilst Archie is a quality bowling all-rounder on the field, he is more importantly an absolute top young lad off the field. Despite being just 18, he has already gained valuable First XI experience at his home club and carries himself with maturity and confidence.

Archie loves his golf and football, and is a Liverpool supporter in the English Premier League. Archie’s favourite song is Walking On A Dream by Empire Of The Sun. He enjoys chinese takeaway as his favourite meal. Archie’s favourite sporting icon is Yaya Toure. His favourite movie is Moneyball (2011).

Archie joins us as part of the CricX Agency program as he looks to use this opportunity to assist him to take the next step in his development by immersing himself in a new environment and unfamiliar conditions. Archie’s strong commitment and drive to continually develop his game give us full confidence that he will be a valuable addition to our club.

Archie will join us a little closer to the start of the season as he is currently still in the UK with his home team. The Ashwood Cricket Club are thrilled that we are able to provide two quality opportunities for two quality people & cricketers to experience and enjoy Australia.
