The Ashwood Cricket Club are excited to announce that Jacques Wildon will be joining us for the upcoming summer as our overseas import. Jacques is a 21-year-old top order batter from Blunham Cricket Club.

Jacques is a real team player who will do anything for anyone, he likes to lead from the front and is not afraid to back down from a challenge. Not much fazes Jacques and there is no doubt he will bring plenty of energy and excitement both on and off the field.

Jacques enjoys football, gym and having a good time – which involves a load of karaoke! He is an Everton supporter in the English Premier League. Jacques’ favourite song is Life is A Highway by Rascal Flatts, which is a ripper karaoke song choice! His favourite meal is steak with eggs and avocado. Jacques’ favourite sporting icon is South African cricket legend, Jacques Kallis. His favourite movie is The Pursuit of Happyness (2006).

For those that can remember and have met Connor Heaps from his time with us in 2016/2017 and 2018/2019 – Jacques is the younger brother of Connor, so we can trust that Jacques is going to be a quality asset to our club.

Jacques will join us a little closer to the start of the season as he is currently still in the UK with his home team. This announcement continues our proud back and forth connection with the UK.
