Our Story

Ashwood Cricket Club was formed in 1950-51 by seven men with businesses in the strip shopping centre on Warrigal Rd, Ashwood.

From that single team in 1950 with no ground to play on and no home base from where to celebrate wins; today Ashwood has grown to six senior men’s teams, eleven boy’s teams, one girl’s team, a Blasters program and from the 2025/26 season, two women’s teams.

Home today is the picturesque Essex Heights Reserve in Mt Waverley (off Huntingdale Rd) with it’s newly re-laid turf square and brand new state-of-the-art practice nets.

Senior teams play in turf competitions on Saturdays and Sundays and our lower grade teams in synthetic competitions on Saturdays.

Junior teams play Wednesday or Friday evenings, Saturday or Sunday mornings on synthetic and the older juniors play turf on Sunday mornings.
